Dropalo UK Ltd. (“Dropalo”) knows that you take your privacy seriously. We do, too. We seek to be transparent about our data practices and to limit the information we collect about you. This Privacy Policy covers our website and mobile application, collectively “the Services’ ‘ and will explain how Dropalo uses the data we collect from you when you use the Services.

What data do we collect?

Dropalo collects the following personally identifiable information from each user: 

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Phone number 

  • Date of birth

  • Name and email address of referral 

  • Location: In order to use the Services you will need to opt in to sharing your location with us whenever you use the Services. If you opt in to have background location on, Dropalo will collect data about your location when you are not using the Services and when the Services are closed.

  • Photographs you upload, social media accounts, links you upload, messages you send and information you drop.

Dropalo collects the following non-personally identifiable information from each user: 

  • Your past drops will not be saved or visible to you or any other user, however Dropalo will have access to your past drops for a period of 24 months after the Drop has been posted.

  • Device information such as your hardware, operating system and version, unique ID, IP address, sensor data, browser type, language and wireless network.

How do we collect your data?

Dropalo collects data directly from you in the following ways: 

  • When you register online for an account and complete your user profile

  • When you voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback to us

  • When you email us

  • When you use or view our Services via your browser’s cookies

  • When you post a drop

  • When you provide us with the name and email address of a potential user for the purposes of sending a referral link to access the Services

  • Location services: 

    • Some features and functionality of our Services require that you provide your location. If you opt in to sharing your location with us, we automatically receive data about your precise location whenever you use the Services. Your location is never shared with others other than by your use of the Services and specifically when you make a drop. 

    • If you opt in to having background location on, we will collect data about your location when you are not using the Services and when the Services are closed on your device. You may change this in your settings at any time. 

    • We use various technologies to determine your precise location, such as the location services of your operating system or browser, sensor data from your device (e.g. magnetometer, barometer, gyroscopes, accelerometers, compasses, Bluetooth data, beacon data, Wi-Fi access points, GPS data, and cell tower data), and other data that may help us understand your precise location.

Our Company may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:

  • Google Analytics

    • We use this data to improve the Services and our business, conduct research and development, perform analytics, develop and offer new products and services, and to infer certain details about you, including details about you, your interests and whether separate devices (e.g. mobile phones, tablets, and/or TVs) are owned by you or by members of your household. For example, we may customize the Services to allow you to add friends from your device’s contact list who are also using the Services or, if applicable, your Facebook, Google or Twitter account, if you have opted to connect these accounts to your Dropalo account. We do not store your contact lists. As another example, we also use your data to help us map Locations (as defined below). For example, we may use device signals to determine that a particular device is within a particular venue. Additionally, if you consent to sharing crash data (when the Apps crash) with us, we may use that data to help us analyze the cause of the crash and improve the Consumer Services.

How will we use your data?

Dropalo collects your data so that we can:

  • Provide you with access to the Services through your personalized login

  • Enable your use of the features of the Services through your personalized account including location-based services, access to your contacts, and providing relevant information.

  • Ensure that all features of the Services are age appropriate.

  • Ensure your safety and the Safety of others while using the Services

  • Email you to inform you of any important news or updates related to the Services

  • Better understand the way you interact with the Services so that we can improve and upgrade the Services over time. 

How Do We Store Your Data?

Dropalo takes every precaution to ensure your data is stored securely by:

•Restricting staff and network access

•Using multi-layered authentication and encryption

•Implementing advanced security measures to prevent unauthorized access

Data Retention Policy:

Dropalo does not retain your data after you delete your account.

All user data is permanently and immediately deleted from our servers once an account is deleted via the Dropalo app.

•We do not store, archive, or back up user data after deletion.

Referral Data:

•If you refer a potential user, their name and email address are stored for up to 1 week before being automatically deleted.

Disclosure of your data

Internal: 

You will always have control over what information other users can see about you and what you choose to make public. When you use the Services, authorized users will be able to see a drop you post, subject to the limitations you authorize. For example, you may limit the individuals who may see a drop you make or limit the information other users can see about you including your name and profile details. You may choose to make anonymous drops to prevent any unknown users from receiving your personal information. Changes to your profile and level of anonymity can be made individually on each drop.  

External:

Dropalo does not share, licence or sell your data to any other organization. 

However, Dropalo will cooperate with relevant authorities to protect the rights and security of its Services, its customers and employees. We may share data (i.) if we are required to do so by law or legal process (such as a court order or subpoena); (ii.) in response to requests by government agencies, such as law enforcement authorities; (iii.) to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights; (iv) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical or other harm or financial loss; (v) in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity; or (vi) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dropalo and our products and services, our employees, or users and others.

Dropalo is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all users. We have a zero-tolerance policy for child exploitation, abuse, or any form of harmful content involving minors. If you encounter any such content or behavior on our platform, report it immediately.

Protecting Your Privacy

Dropalo is committed to protecting your privacy. Security measures, such as using passwords on e-mail servers and limiting access to computers with sensitive information, have been adopted to protect your personal information against loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. However, the internet is by its nature, inherently open and subject to interception of information. We cannot guarantee that the information you provide Dropalo over the internet or otherwise will not be intercepted by third parties while it is being communicated.

Children under 13

Our Consumer Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from individuals under the age of 13 or such other age as may be directed by applicable law.

Marketing

Dropalo would like to send you information about our updated products and services as well as those of our partner companies which include:

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

You have the right at any time to stop Dropalo from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to our partner companies. You may make changes to your marketing preferences in your account settings. 

What are your data protection rights?

Dropalo has taken every measure to protect the privacy and data rights of its users. Every Dropalo user is entitled to the following:

The right to access and transfer– You have the right to request a copy of your personal data that we have stored. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to correction – You have the right to request a correction or completion to any information held about you that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete. 

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that your personal data be erased. However, such requests will be subject to our safety policies and measures.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Dropalo restrict the processing of your personal data, subject to our safety and security practices.

The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Dropalo’s processing of your personal data subject to our safety and security practices.

These rights may be limited in certain circumstances, for example if fulfilling your request would (i) reveal personal data about another person, (ii) infringe the rights of a third party (including our rights), (iii) cause us to delete information that we are required by law to keep or have compelling legitimate interests in keeping. Relevant exemptions are included in both the GDPR and in local implementing legislation. We will inform you of relevant exemptions we rely upon when responding to any request you make.

Deleting your account

 

At Dropalo, we respect your right to privacy and data control. If you choose to delete your Dropalo account, your data will be permanently and immediately removed from our servers. We do not retain any user information after an account is deleted.

You can delete your Dropalo account directly from within the app, ensuring an instant and automated process. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Dropalo App: Launch the Dropalo app on your mobile device.
2. Log In: Enter your credentials (email/phone number and password) to access your account.
3. Access Account Settings: Tap on your profile icon or username, typically located in the top-right or top-left corner of the screen.
4. Find Account Settings: Navigate to the “Account” or “Privacy & Security” section.
5. Select Account Deletion: Locate the option labeled “Delete My Account” or “Close Account.”
6. Follow the Prompts: Dropalo may ask you to confirm your decision and provide a reason for deleting your account.
7. Confirm Deletion: Once you confirm, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
8. Automatic Log Out: After deletion, you will be logged out, and you may choose to uninstall the app from your device.

Important Notes:
• Once deleted, your account and all associated data cannot be recovered.
• Dropalo does not retain your data for 24 months or any period after deletion—your information is permanently removed from our servers immediately.
• If you need assistance with the deletion process, please visit https:/support for instructions on how to delete your account or contact us at support@dropalo.uk if you are having any issues. Please allow 48 hours for a response.

Cookies

Cookies are tiny text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies. When you use our Services we collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology to support your use of the Services.

Our Company uses cookies in a range of ways to improve your experience on our website, including:
